A new program has now been launched by the Rubber Development Department to rehabilitate your abandoned rubber plantation and earn a higher income.
- Benefits you will receive:
Financial assistance: 50% financial contribution to clean and prepare the land
Equipment kits: 50% financial contribution for a set of equipment including rain covers, tapping knives, latex collecting buckets, cups
Technical assistance: Training programs on tapping.
50% financial contribution for fertilizer
Other incentives
- Eligibility to apply:
Being a registered rubber land of less than 50 acres (preference is given to lands of less than 10 acres).
Agreeing for tapping continuously for 1 ½ years.
Being a mature plantation that has not been tapped for more than three months or has not started tapping even after 8 years or more of planting.
The land size should be such that at least 50% of the recommended number of rubber trees should be at a level where they can be tapped.
If tapping is done in panel D, there should be space in the panel for tapping for 1 ½ years.
There should be a person identified for tapping.

Visit your local Rubber Development Officer or visit the website www.rubberdev.gov.lk to obtain the application form and submit the completed application form promptly.
